Back in the day when these first came out, they had an undeniable cool factor. Lebron had one in high school. I remember a local person had one and it had star/awe power. They were the Tesla Y’s, Rivians of the day, though it was to be short lived. Then there came a lot of post 9/11 resentment/wars fought for

True that.

If I had been drinking milk while reading this, it would be spurting from my nose. Well done.

It’s been explored. The rationale is that there are different economics and core values in shelter vs transportation, and how people would adjust to limitations or financial hardships. Example: car payments: amounts are often (not always) nominal enough to lean on relatives for assistance (again not always available).

Even before the pandemic, there was plenty of bluster about the subprime auto industry showing signs of following in the same footsteps (and drop) of the subprime real estate. I agree that a subprime auto industry collapse would not produce the same economic shockwave as real estate.

I think you’re right on this. Last summer the aged in-laws sold their house for senior living. The house sold in <12 hours. I remarked to the agent (who we’ve known for a couple of decades now) about “enjoying the good times” I guess for hot sales. She remarked back that while in her opinion the prices will cool off,

I think you need to go back to your caveat. Nobody’s been stocking stripper vehicles for years that I can see, and most assuredly not now.

Agree, I don’t think the upturned noses perspective holds water here.

Now playing

“Lying to Channel 11.....Film at 11.”

Breaking news update: Derek Carr also connected to the case

Rain Man.

The obvious choice this time of year is Die Hard, everyone’s favorite Christmas movie.”

Incorrect.  I can count at least one that liked.  Maybe it’s the phallic gear shift.

What’s that 80's high school movie where she’s trying to decide who to go on a date with and the friend asks what kind of car each guy drives?

That’s weird, my 2020 Si has them.

The last gen civic/si eliminated the volume knob on the radio, then brought it back due to popular demand.  I suspect VW will bring a few knobs back in the refresh with the outcry of criticism thus far.

Well, let’s see here.  The SE’s also had the PP, so gotta be the plaid seats!

I have been watching on my ‘20 Si coupe as well.  They are regularly trading above MSRP with low miles.  But, I think the long game on these could be good if Honda never makes another Civic coupe again.
