The MJ is my favourite colour of the three, although when it gets reprinted, it'll be a cooler blue, maybe almost a dark teal. The Niva will be a royal blue or dark purple. The XJ in the middle is for parts so doesn't count.

I was reading an online review for an FM modulator, where the reviewer complained that the only reason he got it was to avoid modifying the dash in his “antique” car, but it caught fire and did several thousand dollars damage, and then the retailer wouldn’t refund his money until he shipped the burnt unit back (and…
Or the cars? There’s no reason the Caddy and Buick need two spots in this list since they’re pretty well the same car.
I have three in my backyard. One has 55,000km, one has 243,000km, and the other has 498,000km. The one with 55,000km is my ‘96 Niva, my DD. The XJ with 243,000km is about to lose its motor to the MJ with 498,000km because the oldest, highest mileage one is definitely the best.
As I Canadian, I think that anything over -25 is way too much. It gets just about up to 40 on the hottest days of summer here. It’s pure hell.
How you (likely of somewhat higher intelligence and discernment than the average individual) interpret the words doesn’t play so much of a role here as to how the average individual interprets them. The connotations are huge. Imainge someone saying “I’ve had seven car accidents in the last three years.” Now contrast…
I still have trouble using the same work to describe a vehicle collision as you would for a toddler who wet his pants. Whether or not the dictionary definition is exactly one thing or another, the word has connotations that imply the outcome was inevitable and no one is at fault. Do you blame a toddler for having an…
For exactly this reason, my provincial insurance company quit using the word “accident” about ten years ago, replacing it instead with “collision”. It’s very accurate and much more professional than “crash”. The media quickly followed suit. ‘Tis good.
Up in Canada where I’m living now, those are the little ones... think about that for a moment.
Why are you surprised Calgary has a Ferrari dealer? Yeah, it’s not as big as New Orleans, but it is the largest Canadian city between Vancouver and Toronto, and it’s in very near proximity to the next largest, Edmonton. It’s also closer to Winnipeg (the third largest city) than Winnipeg is to Toronto. It’s a game of…
I am agree with you.
We get it up here, too. People up here do this too... a full-size truck has no need to slow down for most of this stuff. Contrast this to me in an import (albeit a 4x4) where I’ll have to wait several weeks at minimum for new suspension components to show up from overseas, and I’m still hitting all…
If the Russians weren’t being so Soviet, then I’d say FCA should acquire AutoVaz. Because then they’d go full circuit... The first Lada is a Fiat built by Russians, so now the Fiats that Aut0Vaz is building would all be Ladas built by Fiat.
Old listings are valid. Scroll down in the column on the left in the eBay search and tick the “completed listings” box. I wanna know what that trump card is!
And yet the much smaller six-cylinder in the Jeep Comanche made more horsepower...
Yes! This! My favourite Jeep truck!
I scrolled all the way down and was disappointed that no one mentioned the Comanche. It seems everyone forgets about it.
It’s tough to actually say the ignition switches directly caused the deaths, though. Again, not defending GM here, but all the ignition switches did was potentially disable the airbags. If you’re in a situation where the air bag is the difference between you living and dying, you’re going to get pretty fucked up even…
I would argue that this graph should have a downward trend anyhow, survival of the fittest. Safety nets just artificially decrease the slope.
There are a couple reasons for that, though. 35 years ago, if you hit someone’s car at a moderate speed, fixing it took some body filler, straightening the bumpers and maybe replacing some trim pieces, and respraying a small patch of paint, but it wasn’t quite like today where you’re replacing entire body panels,…
Difficult, but not impossible. Your prof needs to revisit Newton’s third law. If you hit the rear wheels with a big enough moment, the front end of the car will come up regardless of the traction. He’s also seriously underestimating the amount of traction available on dirt. Sure, it’s not pavement levels of grip, but…
