I can assure you, in most markets, Uber drivers do not make $19 an hour, it’s more like $8 (after Uber’s 25% cut, gas, repairs, insurance, and a 15% self-employment tax). Not to mention the fact that you have to drive your own car to death while doing it.

I can be as testy as the next guy, but I have learned to simply smile and wave when confronted by angry drivers. You absolutely do not know when someone will snap and pull a gun, etc.

I do the same thing, except I tell them what I’m willing to pay for the car. I do not waver and I’m willing to walk away. If they are unwilling to sell it at my price, I know that I am too low. This is the only way to get to the “bottom line” deal.

At what point did everyone think that they “need” to drive $30-50,000 cars despite their income?
