@P161911 probably shoudn't have: Very true, but also, if you hold on to it they will go up in value. I got my 72 about 10 years ago when they were close to the bottom of their depreciation, now they're going for almost 50% higher than what I paid and still going up.

$15,000!!!!!!!!!! FOR THAT!!!! That's the crackiest, cracked, crack pipe ever. Even crack pipe aficionados would crack under that much crack pipe pressure. I expect the 23 (at this point) nice price voters to spontaneously explode into a cloud of funky smelling smoke before the day is out.

Toyota, not moving forward this time.

I would obviously agree that he could have just jumped to the side by the looks of it. If there was something preventing that than boy is lucky they didn't have the typical closed double doors with one of them locked, cause you know the laws of nature and Murphy insist that you ALWAYS choose the locked one first.

Last night I read the article in Grassroots Motorsports about Bill's adventure (it's unfortunate his co-driver isn't named Ted). It's another nice piece about it for those interested. And it was nice seeing a shout out to Sam and Jalopnik in it.

Absolutely signed by me. I couldn't agree more. The X-games originally was all about showcasing the offbeat and grassroots sports and not the big dollar stick and ball stuff.

They may be a little outside the boundaries of the question, but late 3rd gen to mid 4th gen Corvettes can be had for well under $10k(there's a C4 in good shape near me for just $4k right now). And C3s have the added benefit of being pretty cheap to fix if anything does go wrong. Some stuff on the C4s can be pricey,

Damn it Ray...suck it. Share them things, mine's stuck in paint purgatory.

Nothing of his GT class win, 8th overall at the 1960 La Mans? I guess it didn't warrant mention due to it being in one of those damn Yankee Corvettes.

@AV6Spd: Just not too exotic, it would take away from my going fast budget, which is small enough.

@tomcatt: Yeah, I call it pissed off weed whacker syndrome, very annoying. Someone local to me has a particularly obnoxious one, I have no idea how he can drive that thing and not want to bash his own head in with a bag of fake venti-ports.

@godfathercorvette: Or not, thanks nibbles. But you know what a Vette with side pipes looks like anyway.

@tomcatt: I hope you don't mean outlaw all loud exhausts, just civics with them... I love my side pipes. (This one isn't mine, but it's similar, I don't have a good pic of mine on my computer)

@AV6Spd: I actually painted mine semi-flat black several years ago because I wanted something cheap, purposeful and low key. But when every tool on the planet started doing it I had to get a real paint job. And just for clarification my car is fast enough to back it up, (too much $$) hence the reason I needed

Now playing

@499wishes: Those things freak me out. These are only wheels that should do that. ( @8 sec.)

@cobrajoe: Turn Ten seems to think so, or at least trick you into doing it. I entered an R2 series (which I used my C6R for) and it included heat races there. Needless to say I thought it was quite amusing, but being that it's my best friends favorite track I've run it a lot in various cars.

@IMSTIG: I love Corvettes, I have a 72, but the original was a turd. Thankfully Zora fixed it.
