Anybody else really want to go now?

Such a shame, one of the best bands around these days. I was lucky to see them a few months ago, didn't realise it would be the last (for a while at least).

I like the offhanded remark that micheal makes to his son, "that guy thinks he's a musician!"

Chris Addison from The Thick of It has directed several of the episodes of this season as well. Chris Morris has also done several— there is some really great talent behind the camera, as well as on-camera.

This episode was a fantastic overload of cringeyness and unbearabilty; it reminded me a lot of Peep Show.  So I looked up the director, Becky Martin, and turns out she directed a lot of Peep Show episodes.  This show has had a great rotation of directors: Armando Iannucci himself, Chris Morris, Chris Addison (from the

For once, yeah, definitely watch this.  In the Loop got me into The Thick of It got me into everything Armando Iannucci has touched.  It's the best written comedy film I can think of.

I too did a double take.  I'd watch a remake of that show, although NBC would just turn it into the Office. I need to track down the second & third seasons/sequel-shows.

Was anybody pulled completely out of the episode during that CGI bit in the big room? I forget what it's called, forgive me, but it was the scene with the queen walking around with Margery's grandmother or whoever.  The lighting was just weird and the whole room felt really static and fake.  It was really clear that

This is excellent news.  Do we know who is writing it?

Gritty but joyful.  It's in the style of Elmore Leonard's writing, so lots of really well characterized criminals from across the spectrum.  Very naturalistic dialogue style.

Jim Beaver really is awesome, and really does deserve this post.  As many of us know, Deadwood is one of the greatest shows of all time and it's fantastic seeing so many of the actors appearing in Justified, which is a damn fine show itself.

House of cards certainly deserves the weekly review, but it's pretty cute how you guys pretend it's airing each week— and send me a notification for it.

Todd, to me it seems like you've been eating too much candy-corn TV for much too long.  You need to move onto a sitcom with some chops.  You need to watch Peep show, Todd.

What are you saying, he should have rated it higher? or lower?

Wow, a lot of you guys enjoy these commercials.  I despise them.

Studio Ghibli.

Hmm, I had the opposite experience but to each his own I suppose.

Have you seen Campus?  Only one season but it's basically the spiritual successor to Green Wing.

About time AVClub began to recognize the greatest comedy of the last decade.

Children's Hospital is one of those shows where you've got to start at season 2, season 1 just doesn't hold up as well.  Honestly you can watch the show out of order, or start in season 3 or 4 and get hooked no problem.  I've imparted this show to many many people.
