Our cats have all lived well into their second decade and all have been indoor/outdoor cats. They wear bells to alert wildlife, are kept in at night, microchips so they can't be lost, have regular preventative health care, a regular supply of healthy food AND enjoyment of the natural environment. 19 years inside. My standard advice is to not expect to eat, sleep, watch a movie or go to the toilet. That way if any of that happens then it's a bonus. It really depends on your definition of "long".. some people think that is 3 hours. Like drummerjoe I think of a long plane ride as something across several time zones. We have done

I recommend dramamine..and go to sleep.

For the kid or the parent? Seriously..do not give melatonin to ayoung child or infant. We used it for the first time with our Drs approval when our kids were 5. I gave them a 5ml sublingual dose.
