There aren't really many Windows RT apps at this time since it is a new operating system, but you can virtually guarantee that most Microsoft apps (such as Office) will be made available. It runs on ARM and uses Visual Studio.NET, so apps for it shouldn't be too difficult to create for most Windows developers.

Yep. I upgraded from a 3DS as well and don't regret it one bit. The new (old) power button location is great as well.
