Former EB engineer here, and I always had great respect for BIW. Keep up the great work!

So fucking sad that Americans have been brainwashed into believing that unions are a bad thing.

My grandfather worked at BIW, a long time ago (he died in 1975)- I heard it was a good place to work

Thanks for posting this. I have been in dry dock with our ships several times and from what I have seen, the shipyard staff and management are all about safety, safety and more safety. In fact, at Vigor shipyard in Seattle,WA. I saw a guy run clear across the yard to yell at someone for not having his glasses on.

@SLOCUSFOCUS...you generally hear this in relation to vets, but I want to thank you for your service...and for building our warships.

How do you like working there? I grow up on the coast of NH but moved out to Utah and became a welder. Thinking about moving back to the coast at some point and Bath Iron Works was one of the places I wanted to check out. How is the area to live in?

I’d imagine Maine has stronger worker protections than Mississippi, but who knows. Bath’s small size and the cancellation of the Zumwalt class destroyers does seem to put it in a bad place (they are still building Burke class destroyers), so there may be pressure to cut corners.

might be time to build more at biw.

Chill nod of approval

Wonder how many refugees where involved? How many where asylum seekers?

I hope ‘shot in the leg’ is code for: We shot him right in the nutsack.

As an owner of a Viper, what are all these nannies you speak of?

Here’s your buyer’s guide:

They did this without a PT belt... HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE!?

1986 Mercury Capri RS. 5L of god sent V8, 5 gears to row your self, already has bolt on mods, and its fucking purple. What is not to love. Its like driving in a 80s music video. $5000

Concur. I like the other writers, but my click through rate on Torch articles is most definitely at 100%.

Please provide any proof that she isn’t the best thing in the world.

Think Taylor likes slightly out of shape website editors who are in long-term relationships? Because that’s me!

I hear you. It’s one of the biggest frustrations about doing an overview in two hours, Rockchops. We hope to be able to garner interest enough in the premise to serialize this and bring you huge chunks on one topic in a single episode.
