That is disappointing. I’ve always liked them irrationally.

Stay buggy, my friends.

400k refundable reservations while Ford sold 2.6 million vehicles last year. Tesla surely has less in assets and I doubt their tech justifies that valuation. I’d say it’s more likely that Wall Street hype has convinced some suckers that Tesla is the new hot thing (like GPRO, TWTR, or 100 other stocks).

They want production in July? No way in hell unless they make the business decision to sell the cars with problems known and unknown.

Standard tooling lead time for parts is 12 weeks on average. Some parts take more some less depending on what they are. Take out thanksgiving and xmas and that’s about 9 weeks from the end of summer to the end of 2016. This means they’ve had production parts in their hands for the month of February if everything went

I’m extremely curious about one thing - do people really love their loss-making gypsy cab rides and the associated dickish Randian CEO? Or is this astroturfing by offshore paid PR commenters?

Starred due to my intense dislike of TTAC (although maybe they’re different now, I got chastised for a barely insulting comment about Toyota a few years ago. But they loved to bash American automakers so screw them)

This is pretty much my beef with Tesla and Autopilot. They should either test it themselves, or at least stand by their customers when an accident happens while autopilot is in use.

The Tesla service technicians messed up. Instead of uploading TACC, they uploaded TTAC. No wonder the car ran all over the place with no clear direction.

When I shop for Insurance, I am asked explicitly if I ever use my car for hire, business or rent it out; I wonder what Turo users say to this question... Is it sorta like uber where a “dont ask, dont tell” policy is in full effect, and 98% (atleast in my area) operate in a legal grey area where all parties are at a

“ ... common charging plug standards, car-to-car communication ... “

There are SAE standards that *most* car companies adhere to. Same way ALDL connections are common across all cars with standard OBD-2 compliance and your gas fill caps are all a standard size. There is a standard charging connector (CCS1/2, CHAdeMO) too. I’m not following.

“Car companies are bad at collaborating with each other,”

Ahhh, but they’d have gotten a commercial insurance policy on the car if declared value insurance were the goal.

...and now they say renting your exotic out with the service may not be such a great idea.

fun fact; the little spots on the Corvette’s rear window are tiny Corvette logos.

This was great. You know why? Because, for all of 2 minutes, I wasn’t thinking about the next four years.

Why wouldn’t you just goose-step all the way home like all the other nazis?
