Because assuming the reason one person can afford health insurance (typically just because of the job they have) and another person cannot is really because the person without insurance is a fool with their money is a bullshit rationalization?

Health insurance premiums frequently cost as much as a new iPhone every month, and that doesn’t even begin to cover the actual medical bills. This is not about personal responsibility, this is about animosity for the poor.
If I had to pay for my health insurance out of pocket, I would not be able to pay any of my other bills whatsoever. I could not pay power. I could not pay rent.
It’s not always that simple though. Perhaps you have a job that requires you to have a smartphone for access to your email. Perhaps you get a smartphone or smaller ipad because you can’t afford a computer.
A smart phone is no longer a luxury item. It’s almost a necessity.
Because not “rising above” has nothing to do with 250 years of slavery, 100 years of segregation, or continuing inequality in public education and systematic and institutionalized racism. I hope you are 15 years old with your idiotic comment.
This is what we call false equivalence. Wanting characters to identify with is not the same as saying you only enjoy characters you identify with.
It’s almost like discrimination, alienation, harassment, inequality and religious bigotry are things that are more likely to cause people to become radicalized or violent, rather than less. Huh.
Yes, and no. Identity is intersectional, so while yes, all things being equal being rich provides status benefits that being poor does not, being black or white (or Asian) modifies status too.
You mean like white Southerners who take it as a deep personal insult to their pride whenever the Confederate flag gets removed from a building? Or whose excuse for being unemployed or underemployed is always “affirmative action” or “reverse racism”?
Black Republicans...what the fuck? Isn’t that like the ultimate oxymoron, a ahem “black Republican”? Fuck the “grand old party” and their MISOGYNISTIC BIGOTED RACIST PUSSY GRABBER President!
Pay attention.
petty crimes, especially drug crimes have always been disproportionately used against minorities, no matter that the rates of use are the same.
Jeebus, the disconnect in this country is terrifying.
Didn’t expect to see so many people sticking up for the police on this one. The Punisher doesn’t care about the law. He cares about revenge and murdering criminals. There’s never any evidence, trial by peers, judge or anything similiar involved with the Punisher. If Frank Castle were a real human, having murdered…
Henry Ford isn’t singlehandedly responsible for weekends. Thats a remarkably absurd comment that ignores the entire history of the labor movement. I am not denying that Ford was a labor visionary in many senses, but it was the labor movement that forced the issue.
Lol, you like weekends, buddy? Go thank your nearest labor union
The only reason non-union employers have similar wages and benefits to union employers is because they have to in order to draw the labor. That’s one of the side perks of unions: They keep other employers honest, too.
Actually redesign the home content viewing experience via an actual Apple Television? No thanks.
Are you kidding or just very dumb?
