IIRC, the law requires them to (properly) use the funds by the end of the fiscal year, they DID manage to properly use all but ~30 million of the 400+ million by the deadline.

Since when is entertainment an investment?  You complain when you pay $5 to go to a movie and all you have left afterwards are the memories?

It’s not like money put into ANY game (or any sort of entertainment media, for that matter) is intended to be an investment. IT’s ALL just buying the memories/experience.

I’m not holding my breath. IANAL, but I have to think that if he had any evidence he thought was actually incriminating he’d be using it to bargain with, not simply dumping open his files and saying “please find something worth reducing my sentence for”.

He just has to hope he takes an even number of hits.

I’d argue the problem in that case isn’t the bluff about having DNA evidence, it was the high pressure interrogation.  Even without bluffs about having evidence confessions in high pressure interrogations are sketchy.

Eh, I’m fine with officers bluffing about having more evidence than they actually have, because a confession is always best. And an innocent person should know they are wrong (lying).

Sure, but those training houses weren’t just some house in the suburbs designed to house ~4 people. (in however palatial surroundings) They were designed from the get go as dormitories, with enough training space, parking, road access, etc. to accommodate however many athletes the place was designed for.
