The only correct answers are either turning on subtitles, or cranking down the music so it’s just barely audible background music.

I forget... is calling something “Kabuki Theater” racist yet?

Yeah, but she was dumb enough to outright tell the cops she lied when they showed up.

It’s already criminally illegal, but when the caller only states subjective opinions, (e.g. looks suspicious, I think he’s casing the neighbors house, etc.) it’s basically impossible to prove the person was lying beyond a reasonable doubt. The only time you’re gonna get in trouble now is if you say specifics they can

Yup.

My unasked for 2 cents?

Knowing there had been ongoing protests in the city, and seeing that the highway is closed save for one entrance, common sense would say “hey, maybe I shouldn’t go on the highway.” At the very least, call someone to see what’s going on with the highway.

Minor point

FWIW, the ruling basically seems to be that:

Which is strange, because last I read it’s actually been proven that loot boxes give the same chemically addictive dopamine hit that “real” gambling gives, and is just as bad for childrens brains as real gambling for exactly the same reason.

Consciousness can return, and you presumably still want the suspect restrained for if/when that occurs. And, of course, there’s always the whole “playing possum” argument.

You may want to read the Articles Michael links. While his writing about that incident is quite riveting, it seems to mostly be a work of fiction.

Interesting fact I read recently.

Solution is to simply not buy Apple. The walled garden isn’t exactly a secret. It’s a (stupid, IMO) feature. Companies are perfectly free to make bad products. It’s up to consumers to recognize bad products and not buy them. The companies will then either go out of business or improve their products. It isn’t like

But it IS their platform. And if they want to make it horribly unappealing to consumers, the likely fallout of that is all on them. I, (obviously NOT an apple fanboy) will be happily watching them burn their own house down.

I’d argue there is (or should be) no requirement that competition be allowed to exist on their marketplace because there are PLENTY of competing marketplaces themselves.

So, in the not-too-distance future, everybody using non iPhone games will be able to stream whatever AAA game they want onto their phone, and (assuming they have some sort of controller connected via bluetooth, I assume) will have a great gaming experience.

they are expected to enforce the mandate

I *think* I sort of see the argument there, maybe.

Pity they somehow haven’t yet realized that wireless controllers suck. Just love having to either leave my console in standby mode for months on end, or wait for an hour for the controller to charge before I can start playing after playing on the PC for a stint.
