Guess that depends on your definition of “remotely ready for prime time”. Autonomous cars are already on the roads in some locations, and those regions are only going to expand over time.

One of the reasons I believe Autonomous cars are gonna “go live” reasonably soon, and not in the far off future as some suspect. Those olds aren’t going to give up their lifestyles and individual mobility easily, and even current autonomous driving tech is probably safer for everybody.
