Yup. I always plug in a reader to check for cleared codes and inspect Long Term Fuel Trim percentages. If LTFT is greater than 7-10% in either direction, depending on the goals (ie not a project car) walk away.

I saw this same car on Constitution on my way to work late this summer and was quite confused as I didn’t think the model was even released yet!

Check your data on 70s cars being “tanks” compared to today. A common misconception...

My first though here too. This doesn’t make either of us horrible people, but that mother? She’s a horrible person for burdening her daughter with a laughably stupid first name.

Heh...Ford Duratec is the Mazda MZR licensed to Ford.

Intake and Exhaust manifolds all in one day? What did we do to deserve this? I give thanks.

Yes, see the post above RE: Mazda 787B

This reminds me of another good thing to look out for when purchasing used, plug-in that ODB reader and look at the LTFT!

99.99% of the time CEL is due to something in the emissions system, which other than a clogged cat, won’t do any harm to the car.

    Need the glasses for that...

Oy...with what I’ve heard about the complexities of tuning SkyActive-G  engines, I can only assume SkyActive-X will be quite the challenge. Granted, if the market is there someone is going to figure it out, but it’s gotta have the market. Hell it took years for quality tuning of the stock ECU for the MZR NC!

Sounds like every Maryland driver anywhere.

I’ve participated in a few, Miata clubs are all over the place...a dime a dozen. I’ve yet to find one that isn’t full of a bunch of dumbass teenagers. Now get off my lawn.

I you're going to attempt to grammar Nazi, at least know how to properly spell grammar...

    This is a good take!

Winner winner chicken dinner...pretty much entirely due to that last sentence.

That right there, is how blight laws get enacted.
