Not too crazy, but fun and funny. Was around 10pm at a stoplight with a 90’s Mustang to my left and me in my 5 speed‘94 MX-3 (with a whopping 98hp). Jokingly I look to my left and wink at the girl driving the mustang and give a light rev on the throttle. Light goes green and I do a fairly quick start up to the 35mph

Yes. They are fouling their turbos, exhaust valves, and egr like no other. Not to mention wasting fuel that generally costs as much as premium.

Let me tell you, it’s a daily occurrence where people try to change lanes into me. I’ve become hyper aware since I started driving the MX-5.

Is this the model with the Self Leveling Suspension (SLS) - hopefully not...those are a bitch to restore.

No! At least not with all ECU’s, a lot of more modern ECU’s don’t work well with piggyback systems. Think of the piggyback as a Game Genie to give you more lives in super mario, and flashing as recoding the game itself to give you more lives.

Most emissions tests are ODBII, so not really an issue if you’re flashing. Not that I encourage that type of behavior for street use.

This. If i recall correctly my ‘13 NC ECU has over 300 maps with double that number of cross references between them. VERY COMPLICATED. Requires some dedicated folks and a donor car to crack it and piggybacking isn’t typically a viable option for this ECU either!

Further are we making a distinction from flashing and piggybacked chips?

There are some other things tuning helps with though. For example: In Mazda’s stock NC ECU there is a torque adjust “feature” for 2nd gear that uses the drive by wire to limit torque in that gear. That drove me bonkers! Deleting that feature was a huge improvement for me, while Mazda has that feature to make the

Well, you know....the spice must flow!

I had this one with my brother growing up...pretty sick

I spent HOURS organizing my cars and creating crazy ass tracks...crashing shit together. Ah the memories...need to find out where my collection ended up - had over 100 combined hotwheels and matchbox cars.

Yea right...Santa can’t fit those down the chimney (according to my mother when I was 5)

Damn. I was just going to say they’re disposable, single use umbrellas. Only peasants use their umbrellas more than once!

New Jersey...or perhaps Oregon, but more likely Jersey

Shudda been the rear end for the ND...

HEHE my ‘84 W201 D had the same “cup holders” cracked me up...

Interesting...neutral and dis-engaged clutch to start? I don’t think I’ve every heard of a standard trans setup like that! Now my old diesel merc could start with the clutch dis-engaged and in gear and with the torque would jump right out even with the parking brake engaged.

Actually, the batteries are prone to explosion in the PW VW Beetle release from: ...

I don’t think this failure will prevent airbags from deploying if an accident did occur.
