Good for you! I’ve never had an automatic climate control system choose a comfortable fan speed, and therefore believe there should always be a physical button or dial with which to adjust it.

You make them sound like horrible cars. They still beat the 1.5 turbos in practical fuel economy, and that super low rev gobs of torque is wonderful. No need to baby the throttle. The case for them is harder these days but it is by no means gone. No one is cross shopping a VW diesel with a Tesla.

Not sure about all states, but here in California the standardized tests that schools had were tied to funding. Hence why teaching the test (not just teaching to the test) and test-taking skills went from being a thing once every few weeks for months to being the core for the first 2/3rds of the school year.
