In my experience, their Pittsburgh brand jacks are the one thing they sell that you can actually rely on. Of everything I’ve ever bought there, it’s the only thing that still works perfectly after several years. Damn near everyone at our local autocross has one, and they’ll all tell you the same thing.

To be fair, you should never trust your life to any hydraulic floor jack, Harbor Freight or otherwise.

Funny. However it can easily heat steel to the point where it is so soft it can no longer support the loads applied to it, one of the reasons that blacksmiths heat steel before bending and other forming operations. Depending on the steel an uncontrolled heat treatment can also leave it with poor properties after it…
