Oh, I've seen that video before.
Oh, I've seen that video before.
Why have any rules at all? If the game can be played most effectively by letting each team devise the set of rules they will follow, why not just do that?
Baseball has an anti-trust exemption from Congress, which is what generally triggers the interest and hearings. The NFL works hard lobbying Congress to maintain its nonprofit status, but it isn't nearly as dependent on staying in the good graces of Congress.
Worse than child molesters?
I think you can underline your support for the publication without endorsing the product.
To me, there's a difference between "supporting" and "not opposing".
Agreed, but here we are in a conversation about what movies should or should not be nominated... so it seems like we should be able to hammer out some kind of criteria. I'm fairly agnostic on what that criteria should be, but the question I'm asking is whether or not Gone Girl would qualify, because the people I know…
Well, we're here talking about what movies deserve to be nominated for an Oscar. If the answer is there is no significance to being nominated for or winning an Oscar, the whole conversation is kind of moot, isn't it?
REALLY? I haven't met a person yet who has a negative thing to say. I loved it.
A serious question, because I haven't seen it, was Gone Girl an Oscar caliber movie? I haven't heard great things, but I've only heard not actually seen.
These are car salesmen... what the fuck did you expect?
I think we may actually reaching a turning point on the Olympics issue, at least. The corruption and the insanity has gotten so absurd you can't ignore it... you can't bleat about the beauty of international athletic competition when it's as bad as it is.
But any time you try to talk about the Olympics being dysfunctional, people will bleat "LEAVE POLITICS OUT OF SPORT, DEADSPIN!"
When my mother was in high school she worked at a restaurant and a girl she knew from school came in with all of her friends. The girl started mocking my mother and giving her a hard time, so my mother calmly dumped a tray full of blueberry pie on the girl and walked away. My mom was a badass 60 years ago.
So you only got 44 minutes of thrilling football, not 45. Better than most NFL games.
Counterpoint: No, they're not.
And the quality of the picture will always be limited by the quality of the original production. Having a fancy HD tv and buying the HD version of something that was not filmed in HD doesn't make HD. It makes you dumb.
Hey, that whole Eagle Scout thing finally came in handy!
Ironically, yes.
Pretentiousness.
