Hey, if Xanax is what works, that’s what works. I am pretty sure that all the anti-anxiety drugs in more or less the same class have some neurological effects, not all of which are understood yet. I take clonazepam to prevent seizures.

Jackson was against paper currency and oversaw some of the worst atrocities committed in the Native American genocide. Mankiller led a badass life despite crippling policies toward Native Americans still in place from the Jacksonian era and became the first female Cherokee leader. I want to see her face and more faces…
WHY didn’t you vote for MANKILLER!!! She’s native (replacing the native-killingest president ever) and her last name is MAN. KILLER. I expect more.
Literally the only rule for being eligible to be put on money is that the person has to be dead.
I’ve always thought that Sandra Day O’Connor would be a good choice for the twenty, being the first woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court. (Though she’s not dead yet, which means she’s not eligible.) Other than her, part of me will always want Edith Wilson, though that seems sorta far-fetched (sadly enough).
I think it’s also possibly because scabies has the stigma of being something “dirty people” are afflicted with (much like bedbugs), regardless of how off-base that stigma is.
From hell's heart I slap at thee.
Delusional parasitosis is a brutal condition, and one of there very few where I’d say that if homeopathic quackery convinced her she was cured then by all means encourage that belief.
I have a friend with intermittent fibromyalgia (she diagnosed herself with fibromyalgia and then found a sympathetic doctor to make it official.) It only “flares” when she has to work or do something she doesn’t really want to... But it’s never interfered with any travelling, shopping or any of her own important life…
The conspiracy theories about Morgellons are batshit insane. I mean, the ones about how the CDC is lying about it not being a “real disease” because the “government” is implanting Morgellons in all of us through the use of chemtrails.
Actually, according to this (old-conducted in 2008 but just published; I wonder why it had such a hard time getting published?) article you posted, a considerable debate does not exist as ‘“We were not able to conclude based on this study whether this unexplained dermopathy represents a new condition, as has been…
My occupational therapist is absolutely certain I have post-lyme syndrome, and didn’t have a small stroke. Every appointment is an ordeal, as she tries to tell me to ignore “big medicine” and “find [my] own truth.”
I just sit there, fumbling with the small buttons, wondering how it is she can rant about big medicine…
The fact that their symptoms are bound to psychiatric disorder does not lessen their pain but enhances it.
I worked for an HIV Hotline for 2 years... people woule call CONSTANTLY after having taken, say 10 tests, years after a potential exposure, still convinced that they were positive but that the doctors were lying or the tests didn’t work. They always shared their “symptoms” in detail. WebMD and weird medical internet…
It’s much more likely that the fibers are simply sticking to spots of dermatitis and places where they’ve picked at their skin.
In the summer of 2002, I came home from college to find all the furniture in my mother’s home piled in the center of the living room as she attacked it with some sort of spray. My sister, who just finished first grade, had a head lice scare at school and she was being proactive.
I think it also feeds into peoples needs/desires to be special as it’s not just “unfashionable” diseases (e.g. mental illness) that people reject, it’s common ones - like scabies. Common diseases are what other people get, I’m a super special snowflake, my illness is super rare, nobody understands my suffering.
My brother has this delusion and it has completely ruined his life. Well, I guess in fairness it’s probably his drug addiction that has ruined his life, and is probably what makes him think there are bugs living in his skin. My mother has basically given up her life to care for him and he takes full advantage of it.…
Those shanties were one the best parts of the game, it made it just that much more immersive.
I feel this is appropriate
