35% is no joke. Definitely not a good thing.

That’s got to be a function of larger numbers. I’m betting millions of more people drive and text than drive while drunk.

Did that for 10 years, but it gets tiring after a while. Especially on those days where NJ transit had leaves on the track delays etc...

Usually not. And I agree that the vast majority of them do not. But giving the CEO of a company stock I own that big of a payday would garner enough attention that I would. It takes all of 5 seconds to do it these days.

Well it’s only from 2018 onwards. So you’d have to do the sales figures from 2018, which a quick google search says is about 2.35M cars.  Which would make it $23.8k per car sold since 2018 goes to him.

Apparently the little guys, aka your average person holding tesla stocks, also voted for it. That kind of pay day should be illegal. It’s so morally wrong to have that much money.

100% correct. If Tayor Swift never used another fossil fuel item the rest of her life (not sure that is actually possible), the difference in CO2 emissions would be immaterial.

Taylor Swift’s jet use is such a red herring.  There are 100 companies that are responsible for like 70% of CO2 emission since the 80s.

The current atmosphere makes almost no profit. It was ripe for disruption!

It would be the same net effect. The whole satellite or the piece of the satellite would end up in the atmosphere.  They’d need enough energy to escape Earth’s gravity...whether as a whole or in small pieces.

Maybe dating myself a bit here, but the Metro was only open until 2AM (same time the bars closed) and pre-uber had that damnable taxi zones that were guaranteed to rip you off. It’s possible those had something to do with it then. But in the age of Ubers, I really don’t get it.

Another case of Affluenza

From the post you’d think that. But there is no way they aren’t getting some sort of assaulting an officer charge too.

I lived in MD for 9 years and can confirm. Plus pretty much every single person I know from MD had a DUI or got one during my time there. Not sure what it is about the area that makes people think it’s okay to drunk drive. I was one of the few people I know that refused to do it.

Pickup Cop: “Here comes my best Floridian impression, hold my beer”

Oh I agree. Just responding OPs post saying the car owner sounded like a pain in the ass. I would be a pain in the ass in this situation were it my car.

In terms of asking the difference between the $600 trek and the OPs bike, suspension is definitely a big (and probably most costly) difference. But fully agree that preference on type of bike for type of terrain is all over the map.

Likely first answer would be full suspension. That’s a huge difference right there.

I think the issue is that they said one thing, it didn’t get driven, when it was clearly a lie. I’d be pretty pissed off too. If they were like, yes we had to test the engine and drove it a bit, I’d be much less likely to argue about the 8 miles. Though 8 miles does seem a bit more than what’s needed.
