A ref should never be fired for enforcing the rules just as an officer of the law should never be fired for enforcing the law. To do so destroys the legitimacy of not only those tasked with upholding the legal virtue of society but the individual laws themselves.

You can’t wear a baseball cap to a wrestling match and you can’t wear a weave for the same reason.  It’s covered under the guidelines of what it means to have “proper” hair but the weave isn’t something you encounter that often and as such doesn’t have it’s own section, though considering how this case is blowing up…

I have very personal experience with dreadlocks aka I had them for a period of about two years.  Senior year in HS and freshman year in college and I know what I’m talking about here I don’t need anyone to inform me because I know what I know.  That’s a weave.

Having dreads - even a weave like this one - is explicitly against the rules. You can take issue with the rules, apparently it’s a hygiene issue related to the MRSA outbreaks a few years back, but it is a very clear rule.
