You just made that up off the top of your head. Putin is allies with Assad because of their shared ownership in the natural gas pipelines that run under the country to Europe. He doesn’t want to “consume” Syria, whatever that’s supposed to mean. They are mutually-benefiting allies.

You have to understand that only Democrats care about shutdowns because shutdowns affect only Democrats.  Once you understand this you will understand why all of this - especially Trump owning it - is a very good thing.

Getting funding for The Wall via normal govt funding routes would be preferred, but don’t forget that The Wall is going to be built by the Army Corps of Engineers as a National Defense Expense that is already more than funded.
