I can see the logic in this. I suppose many men find the pregnancy/gyno/women’s reproductive process intimidating and overwhelming. Inviting them to be a participant in the ENTIRE process, not just when the baby is born is fucking smart.

A little after midnight on Monday, Tati posted this note to her Instagram explaining that a reaction video to Charles’s apology video isn’t gonna happen right now:

Wintour and her team may approve of the guests that a company selects but the invitations do not originate from Wintour. There are attendees and there are invitees.

The show was great in the first five or so seasons. It’s the reason they had the ratings, Emmys, all the accolades. Then the writing just got bad. And too many storylines because of all the added characters.

It’s disgraceful.

I recently read Until the Sea Shall Free Them, about the sinking of the commercial ship the Marine Electric (highly recommend), and at the end one of the Coast Guard guys who was part of the investigation started focusing on how grossly unsafe cruise ships are after he left the Guard. He particularly pointed out that

The one thing I don’t understand about these cruise lines, is how unprepared they are for any sort of malfunction.  How they don’t have tugs staged and relief vessels ready to be deployed, is beyond me.

It was a good movie. Not great but good. The marketing of the film though was crap. I think it hurt the movie more than helped.

Wearing a fat suit and a fake nose for a character would fall under “creative differences. Wouldn’t it?

I always have stars for David Suchet who is the only true Hercule Poirot. John Malkovich can f*ck right off

Never say never to fat-suits! I am just nearing the end of the Hercule Poirot series, and only just noticed that David Suchet wore a fatsuit throughout the years. It’s so well done.

She is a female robot. I loved in the HBO doc when many people pointed out that she doesn’t blink.

An octave is a pretty massive shift for the human voice.

A couple of feminist friends took me to task for saying Holmes faked her voice. They said higher octaves don’t help women in the workplace, which I don’t argue with, and she only “lowered her voice an octave,” which in their minds wasn’t fake. I say she lowered it way TOO much, and that’s what makes it fake.

He never deserved his badge. Pathetic. Just pathetic.

that cell phone tower evidence is hard to dispute

But if he did it, he deserves to be punished, even if his conviction was a sham.

The idea that it was random doesn’t hold water. I was really flabbergasted by the portrayal of the Innocence Project in Serial. They seemed to want to blame some random serial rapist who liked to attack Asian women, but that guy attacked people in their homes and Hae was killed somewhere else. Among the few facts that

This, exactly

It drove me crazy how SK just was like Jay is unreliable witness because he was a young black kid selling drugs.  Get out of here with that story!  So f’ed and racist.
