I5 between Sacramento and the grapevine. It’s usually hot, always dry, lots of big bugs, straight and flat for 4 hours or so. Everything else between Spokane, Wa and SoCal is great to drive except that part.
We had to watch red asphalt back in 92 my sophomore year. They should really make it mandatory to watch.
Must resist the urge to put you on a pedestal for writing this article. Lol
Glad it didn’t have a Hemi.
99% of the time if they’re in a Toyota or Subaru they’re going to suck at driving. Pacing other cars in the blind spot, super slow take offs from the lights, drifting in the lane, excessively show corner taking. If they’re in one of those 2 brands I get around them and am gone before something bad happens. The dent in…
Unfortunately I doubt it. The guy lifted a loader off the ground with his head.
One drive through salt lake City and you’ll agree with the lower limit, the people drive bad enough sober let alone drunk. Every and I mean every billboard and side the freeway there says “ had an accident? Call us” and then the lawyers number. Coincident? I think not.
Man that sucks, I blew by 2 cops this winter in the snow. Was I doing the speed limit? Well around the officer I was. Was I going to fast for conditions? No. They were both doing approximately 20mph under the limit and the we no way I was going to sit behind them all the way to work. It’s not like they were going to…
As a guy who had been interested in cars for most of his life I always read your articles because they are informative and well written. Keep up the great work. You are by far at the top of the pack of writers on jalopnik and the internet.
Lower on the rotor equals lower center of gravity.
That’s a real stupid design for a service station. Surprised this hasn’t happened before. There’s a rest stop in I84 in Oregon at multinoma falls that is in the middle of the freeway with a straight in real like that. It was raining, 3am and I had been driving since the early am the day before. With the cruise set at…
Welcome to Washington state where every American car and sometimes Volvo wagons can be unmarked traffic enforcement. Oh and if they so desire can write you a ticket while I’m their own personal vehicles in plain clothes and deliver it to you later.
They ruined the handling going from the 1st gen Libby to the 2nd gen Libby/nitro. 1st gen had negative camber in the front which made it corner like no SUV of that height and weight should. It also had plenty of front grip in the nastiest of conditions which means in the snow and ice it was a monster. The reason…
I had an 86 coupe GT commen. Edition for a while. The car was a pile on the street, but on loose surfaces it was an animal. While I’d like to have a 4k Cs quat one day after having the coupe I’ll never own another Audi.
Welcome to the liberal state of Oregon. Tax everything.
Sitting in my AWD R/T Magnum as I type this @66k miles is had zero electrical gremlins. Makes a great winter car even if it is a bit tail happy with the ESC turned off. Mpg hurts but the launch off the line with the Hemi and AWD makes up for it when the light turns green.
Only after you get the stock alignment fixed so they don’t understeer the owner, or my neighbor, into a ditch. Lol.
California’s chain checkpoints and laws are a joke. Having parents in both Washington and SoCal growing up I learned to drive in the deep snow and got to ski in the SoCal mountains. 1st time we woke up, threw chains on to make it up the steep climb through the neighborhood cabins and as soon as we hit the flat main…
The solar roadways panels out of Sandpoint Idaho are heated so you don’t need plows and salt lol
