Restraint training is fairly standard here. Obviously, it is a last resort. It’s not so much for self defense or to get someone to comply, it’s for the protection of other kids and the child himself/herself. If a child is throwing a potted plant at you, they are a potential threat to themselves and others.

If you are dealing with potentially violent students, then you have been trained in how to physically restrain them. Or you’re lying.
