Fellow Gen-Xer here, totally agree. It’s crazy what we have now, isn’t it?! This is the stuff we used to dream about back in the day...I still have an old Sony Watchman TV that’s useless now in the digital signal age, but man I thought that was amazing tech in the 80s.

THIS! I worked for TWA back in the day loading bags, and every other day or so we’d have a suitcase explode while grabbing it or while it was on the belt loader. The old wooden ones particularly. Nothing like seeing some stranger’s undergarments erupt all over the tarmac and employees chasing them down, good times.

So we have a show called See and a movie called Saw. Awesome :D

I was thinking the same thing about map uses for this, exciting times! But yeah, I’m that boring as well.

That’s the funniest and stupidest thing I’ve read all week, hahahahah

YES. Electric kettles are awesome! They’re also great when traveling for many reasons.

Same here! So cool to see telescope tech advances like this. Used to dream of controlling a telescope with my Atari 800XL back in the day...alas, not to be at the time but I think the IBM PC could do it via serial port.

It really did have some phenomenal music, that “Figure Eight” singing also stuck with me all these years as its style is different than most of the rest. Thanks for that information, didn’t know who sang it!

It’s tidbits of knowledge like this that make me grateful for the internet :)

Thanks for this, I had no idea about his jazz background. The guy was seriously talented! I can still remember the lyrics to most of the Schoolhouse Rock cartoons from the 70s, so cool that they’ve never been forgotten.

That also would have been a great feature in the old game Populous.

I had those books! Also, making a pyramid and pointing it north to make razor blades underneath never dull and supercharge water. Or something.

Cool story, bruh!

This is a great idea, thanks! Especially the daily highs and lows reflection. It’s also personally a good reminder to write down goals for the new year in a journal app or whatever, wish I’d done that last year.

I also liked the theory that they were an offshoot of V’GER from the first Trek movie, since it had traveled the galaxy and become sentient.

Ugh. Foster had that exact, same expression during the ENTIRE film.

Fellow Scot checking in, totally agree hahaha.

Very informative, thank you! I lived in Sardegna for 15 months in the 90s, and still have fond memories of how good the locally-grown food was. Wish I’d known more about cheese variations back then.

I knew someone would somehow drag this down with politics. GG.

Thanks for sharing about these blankets, I am going to get one soon as well after reading so much about their benefits. Great point about the cats as well, I also wake up when mine move around.
