That must have been amazing time to experience the portable transistor radio! I can sort of relate as I was in 7th grade when the Walkman debuted. That was YUGE, some rich kid that I knew got one and it was amazing. I had to settle for a larger Sears knock-off, but at least I could take music with me :D

This was wonderful to read, what an awesome dad he is. I lost my own to colon cancer this year, and miss him terribly. Please take Mr. Callaghan’s advice and find the small things and actively BE part of each day with your family. Time has a way of slipping away before you know it.
