Agreed, that is one of the most amazing action films ever made. And I believe he was 40 when shooting it, which is awesome.

This is awesome, great post. I grew up in the 70s, and always lamented the inability to freeze-frame stuff just to look at details. Even after getting a VCR in 1984, it didn't work well because everything was so blurry. I continue to be amazed at Cobb's talent, those Semiotic Standard icons are very cool.
These are great! There are stops all along I-40 in the western US, I've often wondered what stories they could tell about the people who have stopped there along the years.
I remember that as well. It was also in the Marvel comic, remember the giant-sized version that cost all of $1 and had several issues all together?
How many birds will get fried if they dare fly over that?
Derp. Calling names? Check. Racist troll? Check. Self-delusion that you're a rational, thinking adult? LOL. Lay off the weed, son.
Oh, whatever. Why shouldn't a ship be able to protect itself as well as allies in the region? The only countries that hate us are the ones who are suppressing their own populations, but you seem to fine with that. Perhaps you should try serving your country first before saying it's "business as usual" without knowing…
"The trans-phobia of Ace Ventura Pet Detective is hard to revisit"? Seriously?! There was nothing "phobic" about it, it was funny. Lighten up, Francis. #facepalm
You win. Hahahahah
You can get this amazing painting as a poster print from Michael Whelan's site, it's called "Trantorian Dream." I first saw it on a paperback copy around 1990, and have never forgotten it. Quite beautiful.
Same here! I first saw it back in 1990 in a hospital waiting room (they had paperbacks to read), and never forgot it. Years later, I ordered a print from Michael Whelan's website and it is truly gorgeous to behold. It's called "Trantorian Dream," check it out: http://www.michaelwhelan.com/shop/reproduct…
Same here! I only saw it once, when it was first aired as well. Young mind = blown.
Well said!
"Equal people"? Why didn't Obama put a stop to this with his pen and phone and bypass Congress as he says he can do? Why are you blaming "teabaggers" when your guy is president and does what he wants? Why do Reid and Pelosi get a free pass? If we're all "equal people," why did ONE political party get targeted by the…
The NSA's spying powers expanded greatly under Obama's watch. He loves to talk about how he has a pen and a phone to change things all by himself and bypass Congress. Why didn't he put a stop to all of this? Why aren't you directing your ire toward him? Why does he get a free pass? Why are you blaming the party who…
Started at 300 baud here, but thankfully it wasn't acoustic :) Still, it was so slow that you could read the text easily as it downloaded. 1200 meant you had $$$!
Great story!
Been a fan since 1993. Also, Chilli. Ohhhh.
This is awesome. I'd been on CompuServe in the 80s, but the first time I successfully got onto the web in 94 or so it was an amazing feeling to be truly connected to the rest of the world. Anyone else feel that way? Getting listed on Yahoo! was actually something to brag about. Don't think I ever truly reached 14.4…
