That “how we met” (or whatever they call it) column is one of the worst in the NYT. I read it twice and, tbh, would rather read David Brooks than that column. Yes, it is that bad, and at least the comments in response to Brooks are fun to read.

Despair.com is awesome. This one is my motto!

You and I have a different understanding of the word “great.” Millions of people buy Big Macs everyday, but that does not make them “great.”

You had me nodding up to Beyonce. She has no business being in the same paragraph as the other women you mentioned. Please - so overrated. SHE should give up her awards to more deserving black female artists. Just stop with the Beyonce worship.

Still waiting on the Jimmy - Darcy show, but a Jimmy, Darcy, Wong, and Madisynn show would be awesome.

Oh yes - I expected that. The Dismiss option is your friend.

Have a look at EdX - free courses in lots of tech fields. You have the option of paying for a certificate (even that will cost far less than a degree), but you can gain the knowledge for free.

Let’s face it - the Jim Crow playbook is back, and not just for eliminating the voting rights of black folks. How many times have you seen a proponent of the “Don’t say gay” law in Florida write, “Have you read the law? it doesn’t say that.” There is the essence of Jim Crow - make a law to demonize those you do not

Yes, institutionalized racism plays role in the mental health of all POC. BUT - you have used this as an excuse to attack (checks list) mostly POC? If you are going to carry on a onc-sided beef, go bigger - Trump, Bannon, Tucker - these are all available!

So he is, what, auditioning for Uncle Ruckus in the inevitable live action version of Boondocks?

That is one of the best uses of Piaf’s “Non, Je ne regrette rien” that I have ever seen!

Was anyone else hoping Guillermo would “accidentally” let a stake fly right at the Ringmaster?

I am not liking the direction they are taking Nadja this season. Season 1, she was clear-headed and often took a more direct route (a favorite scene of mine is in Animal Control, when after various attempts by Colin to get the code, Nadja just waves her hand for a quick hypnosis and demands, “Code. 1234? You have got

Finally got round to seeing this series, and am enjoying it (with the caveats already mentioned by many of you). I was surprised not to see the review mention Legion at all. This episode in particular echoed the asylum scenes in Season 1 of Legion, and I could not help thinking about it. It is not a copy, and the

D’Arcy Carden not being nominated for “Janets” still irks me.

Gee, I wonder what Faux News fascists will obsess on for the next month. The 86+ hate crimes against non-white folks since January, or the one against a white person who said she supported Trump. If only I had a crystal ball...

What is there to be proud of if you’re from Mississippi?

Glad no one got hurt, and actually glad this waste of space was stupid enough to provide clear evidence of a hate crime. I would prefer none of this happen, but at least with them documenting their crimes, it is a little harder (though not impossible) for DAs to avoid doing their job by prosecuting them for everything.

Unpopular opinion - she is an awful person of mediocre talent who treats people awfully. She has not one tenth the talent of Eryka Badu, Janelle Monae, Lauryn Hill, or a dozen other singers. Sorry, not sorry - too much B worship gets on my nerves.
