I’m all about the darker side panels, that’s like the number 1 thing to enhance an actor’s silhouette (again, broadens the shoulders, slims the waist). Hoechlin’s costume would be pretty perfect except for the airbrushed abs.

That’s my problem. I really want better telephoto lenses but they’re all only on larger phones. My S10 is the largest phone I’ve ever owned and I eventually got used to it, but I really don’t wanna go much larger than that.
It’s more about proportionality, really. While there are people out there with super-defined abs but under-defined everything else, usually we assume that people have really toned arms/torso first, before we assume they have really defined abs. So even if the muscles are fake padding like the Burton/Schumacher…
Can we all agree that in the order of fake costume muscles to add, the one at the very bottom of the list are the ABS?
AAAAAH come on, I see 4 lenses and none of them are telephoto... I was SO ready to go all-in on this. Are they really THAT much more expensive???
a script penned by Paul King with his Paddington 2 partner, Simon Farnaby (the latest in a long line of drafts from writers Simon Rich, Simon Stephenson, Jeff Nathanson, and Steven Levenson, and Jeff Simonson, Steven Jefferson, Nathan Richerson, Jeff Stevenson, Simon Nathanrich, Simon Simonson, Steven Stephenson,…
Even after the Jaws era of modern blockbusters, the diversity of popular movies in America makes the current era (we’ll see how things look post-pandemic, but I’m guessing not too different) look sad.
Really the big thing people “filmmakers” are mad about are theaters and theatrical releases. Because there’s about as many movies being made now as ever been, including indie releases, and I think the types of movies that were mid-range back then, adult thrillers, smaller action films, family films, are coming back,…
We need to keep shaming phone companies towards making telephoto/optical zoom standard on all baseline phones. If they can’t do 3 lenses, then it should be the default 2nd lens (versus the ultra wide). The regular wide main lens is more functional for wider shots than it is for zoomed shots.
I think these are cool and I have a ton of smart home stuff that would be great to access visually but I realized it’s inconvenient for me to have to walk up to a wall in my house in order to see or tap anything. If I put one on my doorway when I come in, I’m not getting off the couch to use it. The only useful place…
Damn, beat me to it.
I was actually too harsh on my comparisons, I think it looks fine as more of a kids show, something that would be on Disney Channel before they ate up Marvel, or something in the Sharkboy and Lava Girl Rodriguezverse. It’s still not really my cup of tea, honestly I can’t even get into Earth 2 in the comics. I’m glad…
Even within the context of the DC Berlantiverse, can someone explain to me the tone of Stargirl? I don’t actually watch any of these shows apart from some crossovers, but is it MEANT to look even cheesier than all the other shows? I’m assuming it skews younger because of its protagonist, and there’s an upper limit to…
Because that’s the whole gimmick of GOG... It’s the good old games you love, but no DRM: the idea being that old games don’t need to be so concerned about piracy since the game’s been out so long and they’ve already made most of their revenue, plus being DRM free assures gamers that their old ass game doesn’t require…
We had hoped it maybe wouldn’t be the case, but we all knew they would HAVE to do that, because the book is super short and barely has any real scenes of human interactions. There aren’t any real characters in there, and things just magically happen like you were reading a grade school history book: “and then Thomas…
That’s exactly my point, though, it WAS a big deal, but unless you look for books specifically about the topic, most macro history books won’t spend much real estate on it, if at all. Before 2020 all I knew about the Spanish flu was that it happened in the early 20th century, and iirc was assigned to do a report on it…
Late to this party, but I would say most human history when viewed on the century scale is massively optimistic. That’s what hindsight and a high enough vantage point will do to you.
I really liked this interview too, he’s clearly passionate and thoughtful about his role and what the series but also smart enough to know where his role ends and NOT talking out of his ass, repeating hard-sell talking points, and being overly pretentious.
Shang Chi isn’t on premier access (and certainly wasn’t on Premier Access on release day like Black Widow was), and the way the Disney+ Day press has it, it seems to heavily imply that they’re not gonna do Premier Access for Shang Chi at all, just wait a few more weeks and just give it away on Disney+.
I’m really disappointed that the bezels are so thick (I heard they’re thicker than the 11" iPad Pro?). They have side bezels thicker than the previous mini, which, while the overall screen size is larger because of the smaller head/chin bezel, makes it slightly narrower. iPads have had edge palm detection for a while…
