I agree. I'm freelancing in the 50k+ level and I am still just a sole proprietorship (my very good accountant is keeping an eye on this and will advise me when it's worth incorporating). This is partly because I'm from California and LLC's are very expensive to start here (800+). If it was cheaper you could do it or

That's something I hadn't thought of (I mean obviously nothing's stopping other imaging software from making local backups, but I guess if it's stored in the cloud it's a problem). Still sucks though, I just bought a family plan thinking I could save myself having to make time machine backups of the two new computers

Definitely the best shot in mainstream film all year, and arguably the greatest "superhero" shot in a comic book movie ever. You can't ever capture a Jack Kirby style composition into one simple shot, but I can envision this as something John Byrne would cram into one double-spread panel.

Yes, this is pretty terrible, and generally unacceptable, so I just wanted to take this time to complain about a pet peeve of mine: that if this were a fan film, the headline would say "HOLLYWOOD NEEDS TO MAKE THIS HONG KONG PHOOEY FAN FILM INTO A REAL MOVIE," and the rest of the article would refer to how much better

I warning and a lesson for those using Crashplan to back up your systems... I should've known better, but Crashplan does not work (at least on a Mac) as a total system recovery tool, only as a file recovery tool. You can not (at least in a straightforward enough manner) recover your backed-up system if you're starting

You know how the HDR feature takes multiple exposures at different settings to combine into a high dynamic range image? Eventually couldn't you just do the same thing but instead of changing aperture you quickly change focus from back to front, and then process out a lytro-type file?

Wow we totally don't.

You know who I never see with broken phones? People with no phones. Clearly the only sensible option is to not own a phone.

If this guy knows how to craft and is sick, can't he just find some green plants?

+1

i might've been oversimplistic in summarizing the argument as "guns or video games cause mass murders," but I assumed that a logical person would understand that when I say that I mean the more nuanced "contributes to/enables," as you put it (and as ridiculous as the NRA's PR stance is, their angle on video games are

That's the point I was making. The original commenter seemed to want to argue that video games don't have an effect on mass killings because evidence would suggest that mass killings happened just as regularly before video games were invented, and as such might also be insinuating, using that specific argument, that

The point I was making was that it's not rhetorically smart to say "video games don't cause violence because there were statistically as many school shootings before video games were invented," because by that logic I could show you that the worldwide murder rate before guns were invented were just as high before guns

Not a good rhetorical argument. I can give you a list of mass deaths before guns were invented. You would not believe the mortality rate at the hands of fellow men.

Does "knowing what the f*** you're doing" involve having a naturally slick butt for your girlfriend to slide the strapon into? Man what a lucky lady.

Yeah guys, I distinctly remember the bandits in Home Alone dying halfway through the movie.

I'm gonna argue one tiny part of your argument: Adobe software runs faster on windows, and from a UI standpoint the adobe interface has always leaned towards resembling windows more than OSX anyway. Plus PCs/windows offer more hardware possibilities that Adobe takes advantage of (like CUDA) that are much more limited

Comic book guy loves free swag, why would this change that perception?

They meant hand and mountain.

Because I had just gotten the app and was testing it. I wanted to test what it would be like if I were to use it in a city I wasn't familiar with and see if it was capable of routing in response to traffic. It wasn't, and god help anyone who tries to use this someplace they didn't know how to navigate themselves.
