So as I figure it: Lacking a clear front runner, the Academy decided it would pander to the black community by voting for a black-centric film. That’s fine. Been done before. But why in God’s name would they pick the one black movie that black people seem to hate?

This was the inevitable fate of the Oscars. Neutered and pandering.

I am weeping with delight. This is my favourite story of the year.

I was taken aback by how much hate there was for this show. I didn’t think it was perfect, but it was perfectly watchable. I’m guessing it was put on some kind of a left-wing shit-list at some point, and I didn’t get the memo...
