You realize that none of this is accurate, right?

My, that is quite the narrative you’ve constructed there, Damon.

I think you probably hit the nail on the head. I’ll be the first to acknowledge that my problem with James Bond is exactly that - my problem. Ever since Casino Royale I’ve been expecting more out of the franchise than it’s traditionally offered. It was like eating the forbidden fruit, and there’s no going back for me.

Maybe a little less for him, and a little more with him, if you catch my drift...

Well we’re talking about different things perhaps. I can’t speak to aesthetics, and there’s no accounting for taste.

I don’t take issue with overtly masculine characters, but I couldn’t reasonably refute that Bond could be toxic. It’s not that he’s a murdering womanizer that’s a problem, it’s that it’s treated so glibly. If you ever watch The Americans, a show which does spy stories better than Bond ever could, they do a lot of the

Can’t argue about the cinematography. Roger Deakins is just the best in the business. The visuals alone were worth the price of admission.

As a long time Bond fan I’m tempted to say you’re speaking heresy. However, I’d have to concede that Bond is a character that’s extremely out of place in the modern world. They’ve nodded to that fact in several movies, but, never particularly challenged the character to evolve.

Am I? I’m not so sure. But I’m open to another perspective if you’re interested in sharing it.

Hold on. You know that racism has never really been your problem, right? We didn’t enslave black people because they were black. That’s absurd. We (rich white people) enslaved them because they were cheap, convenient and easy to control. Hell, we wouldn’t have bothered at all if indentured servitude had worked better.

Also, the White Supremacists really need to work on their P.R. strategy...

I’m not sure how women are able to keep track of who these people are and what it is they do. But, it’s sort of impressive.

I find it disturbing that the single stupidest comment on here has the most stars. Though not entirely surprising.

I don’t know. I’d be tempted to get worked up over Limbaugh’s comments, but frankly they’re too stupid to take seriously.

Actually, wypipo are pleased to see it’s inspiring this kind of political engagement. It’s fascinating that a super-hero film would capture the popular imagination like that.

If you could find out how The Three Seashells work, that would be a serious point of interest for me.

An R. Kelly sex palace?? My heart goes out to the landlord. I’m not sure how he’s ever going to scrub the smell of stale urine out of the place. They should burn it to the ground.

Heh, I’m going to take your word for it! I dunno. It’s not the strange ideas that bother me so much as the notion that people are actually buying into them. One must wonder.

Well said. This fascination with presidential sex lives is absurd. How can people muster the energy to care about this nonsense?
