@WhynotstartYunieveryday: How big is your dog? My understanding (limited to an ex with a dog who had a torn ACL) is that surgery isn't necessarily that beneficial for smaller dogs. Regardless, just like with humans, you should get a second or even third opinion about whether surgery is needed.
