Fire Walk With Me is great and I will gladly die on this hill.

Well there wasn’t a whole lot in my comment to justify going right to “worthless sack of human garbage,” but let me clarify my view.

Apparently WB has this disclaimer for it’s more controversial cartoons:

I know they’re apples and oranges, but it’s funny how the MJ episode gets an instant reaction to fix the problem, while the far more complex issue with Apu gets treated by the showrunners with a vague “hmm...ah...fuck off and stop getting mad”

True. In a later episode (Bart Sells His Soul), Bart even jokes about it, saying a soul is “ just something parents made up to scare children, like the boogeyman or Michael Jackson.” So it’s not like they didn’t think it was possible he was guilty way back in 1995.

I can’t figure out what you’re upset about.

Lots of shows get pulled, but most shows are not The Simpsons. It would be noticed, especially with it disappearing off popular platforms like Simpsons World. Hell, I was actively wondering the last couple weeks if it might get pulled. A statement about it kind of makes sense.

It’s actually POSSIBLE they get residuals since MJ apparently wrote the song “Happy Birthday Lisa.” I’ve kind of assumed the song is owned by Fox and Gracie Films and that he therefore never got residuals off it, especially since he did it uncredited, but I’m not really sure.

But yeah, I don’t think they should pull it

I don’t remember there being a consensus after ‘93 that Jackson was probably guilty. It seemed more like, “he’s definitely very weird, so it’s possible, but who knows.” Social media wasn’t around and the internet was barely commercially available, so even very shocking allegations faded into the background much more

Having watched the documentary I sympathize with the impulse here, but I don’t think this is the right way to handle it. I can maybe see pulling it from syndication, etc., where the absence of context might create the impression that the people who made the episode don’t know or care about the revelations that came

I don’t think that’s the right decision. The man’s legacy is complicated, to say the least, but this seems like a bit of a reach. Next you’ll tell me nobody will air Men in Black II anymore, of if they do it won’t feature his cameo. There’s a point where this all gets silly, and I think we’re there.

Is there a better way - a more grammatically correct way - to say “I’m not dumb at this shit.” It’s the being “dumb at” something that my brain snags on and I wonder if it’s just one of those things that might not sound right even though it is.

It really is amazing how much can change in such a short time. I remember feeling so full of hope, optimism, and pride in my country on that day ten years ago.

Hypnotic is pretty much the perfect word.

Aretha didn’t even have a will. She is going to cost her family millions of dollars just because she was one of those old stubborn people who didn’t want to take advice.

Hold up... are you telling me there’s an actual, described reason somewhere in the existing Twin Peaks fiction explaining why David Bowie became a teapot???

Assault and rape accusations are serious, but the others? The women making such accusations, years later and on acts that could have so easily been handle like adults, don’t see how they make all women look like they are weak and in constant need of protection and safe spaces. Asking someone to go to a hotel room is

The difference being when there is overwhelming evidence to believe the people assaulted... “the left” cuts ties. But when Republicans openly admit to assaulting people, or being a pedophile, they get elected (or nearly elected) into office. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Moore But hey, we’ve all said “grab em by

That is a clip from the 1989 film “Teen Witch”, which was (as you might imagine) about a teenage girl who discovered she had witch powers. The lead guy there, Rhett, is played by Noah Blake (Robert Blake’s son).

It's interesting how far opinions can diverge. I thought Carnivale was a damn near perfect TV show.
