The Madewell City Grid coat is arguably the best purchase I have made for myself in the past ten years. (It’s gorgeous, but their website never does it justice. WHY are so many Madewell photos online so unflattering?!) I promise that this thing makes me look put together, even when NYC winters make me want to cry.

Amazing how lives entwine so closely and then just go separate ways, usually forever. This made me think of letters I have saved from old girlfriends, friends and acquaintances that were sort of pen pals (Jesus, I am OLD) for a time. Thank you for this story and the manner in which you told it. What a great read.
