“AI “art” is completely dependent on having pre-existing art in its database to copy from”

The Chicks were cancelled for the better part of two decades for being right about G W Bush.

“The video poured* over the design goals and delved into why the studio best known for Metroid Prime was interested in making it in the first place”

They said that this mod added mouselook.

“AI art isn’t really art as we commonly define it, as it wasn’t created by humans”

Note: Desta is on Netflix, so if you have a sub to that service, and a phone, you can already play that game. It’s solid, fun, and has school art style, though it’s short enough that I’m glad I didn’t pay (beyond Netflix sub costs) for it.

“Our egos usually don’t demand it though.”

This stupid lawsuit makes me think MUCH worse of Ikea than me hearing about an indie horror game parodying their stores. Way to shoot yourself in the foot.

Yeah. It's a bit strange to see this written about like some technological marvel when it's just the same basic chroma keying I remember doing in video production classes in the 90s.

Why would you pay $700 for a Chromebook when that same money can get you a passable laptop that not only has the same streaming capabilities, but can also do in-home Steam streaming and also actually install less-demanding games? That’s bananas.

And adjusted for inflation, those games were significantly more expensive than $70 games today.

Again, it was significantly *less* safe back then. “The good old days” are a myth, and violent crime has seen a steady decline over the past half-century.

“Those were also different times where it was more safe to leave a 10 year old alone or with some friends at the local arcade.”

The “most bougie” thing she does isnt ordering takeout, it’s being a millionaire and not considering herself wealthy.

BeBecause a new game won’t have the same name recognition as Star Wars, and a new Star Wars game won’t have the same recognition KotoR (for some reason) has.

The story is lazy Star Wars tropes mashed together with lazy Ancient Aliens bullshit, and riddled with some of the stupidest dialogue in either Star Wars or RPGs.

The story and writing are probably the most inexcusably bad part of that bad game. The crummy graphics and mechanics are a vestige of the time. The crummy dialogue and laughable 'moral choices' were lazy and dumb even at the time, even for Bioware.

“Arguably” is a weird synonym for “definitely not,” though I guess you're right that a particularly argumentative person may try to make that point.

Not enough to make me want to play that poorly-written, ugly, slog of a game.
