I hope they hint at doctor who things, where Jack has been, where Rhus is during this, and more. If they dont then the series would be a little of a let down

He probably copyrighted his version of the characters, just his design for the character but not the actual characters name or story. Sorta like Fables, the characters are all public domaine but the design for those characters are owned by DC (my guess).
