i would guess the NLRB would side with her

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I thought this story was missing the fact that Biology Online was an affiliate site of SA, which adds another dimension to the 'why was this blog post pulled' tale.

Why is she obligated to politely try to "resolve" anything? Her behavior in the situation was absolutely blameless. She had already BEEN polite. Companies, especially companies we don't even work for, are not owed having their "mistakes" covered up by the victims of those "mistakes".

Perhaps you should be familiar with the blogs before making assumptions? In particular, the fact that contrary to what DiChristina says, the bloggers who work there have come out in force to say that they are given free reign over their blogs, have no requirements, and could (to quote one) "post cat pictures all day."

No.

People I know laugh and roll their eyes at the manipulative use of the term "professional" and "professionalism" by those who are trying to get them to work for no pay. My cousin said she lost a ton

I hope things get better. In the meanwhile, here is a giraffe photobombing a picture...

Will it cheer you up if I tell you I giggled a little because I imagined you got in a fight with Jeff Bridges?

I feel you. I also have that super fun cold/UTI combo, a giant pile of reading to get through for my own grad stuff, and I'm alone on Canadian Thanksgiving which just reminds me that it's been a year and I still haven't built a good local support system either. To cheer myself up, I made warm mulled wine by cutting

This Ok Go video always cheers me up. Best Rube Goldberg ever! Also, they shot the whole thing in one take!

I know this is a viral marketing scheme for a dumb movie remake, *however* the results are still pretty fun to watch:

I hope you have a place by you that will deliver chicken (assuming you eat chicken, one never can tell) or vegetable soup. And if you have Netflix you should cozy up with your soup and some wine (it's medicinal!) and watch Call the Midwives. If I could bring you these things, I would.
