From the write up, it sounds a bit like they mainly want more space for occasional trips instead of frequent use. They also seem to really like their current vehicle. I am in a similar situation, so I own a small vehicle for daily use and rent the occasional truck/SUV when I need it.

I am only going to throw this out there, but here’s a way to possibly get around the test.

1.) Get the fuel level down below 1/4 of a tank or above 3/4 (keeping the fuel level low may be the easier option)
2.) Clear all DTC’s using a scan tool
3.) KEEP THE FUEL LEVEL BELOW 1/4 OR ABOVE 3/4

As restomods go, it’s still an attractive car, regardless of how “unpure” it is.
