see the thing is sometimes the rules are dumb. it doesnt matter if something is rule or law, if its bad you should stand against it.

One thing to notice, Third Strike, Brood Wars, and MvC2 are still supported and sold by their companies in various forms.

bro are you trapped in a mid 2000s newgrounds comment section or something

1993 called. They want their terrible retorts back.

You are likely confusing it with the level editor that appeared in Smash games starting with Brawl forward. Melee had no such editor and regardless, the level editor is a very basic tool that just lets you draw shapes and place preset assets. The modification of a vanilla stage being described here would require

ssbm does not have a level editor

This is so fucking stupid it hurts.

Now playing

The silver lining (if one can consider) is that some Japanese tourney organizers were able to get Smash Ultimate tournament licenses in very short order after the JP guidelines were released - essentially the complete opposite experience that’s existed for years of dealing with years of Nintendo red tape.

Stop replying to the troll. His micro penis fuels his endless rage.

Normally this is the point where I step into the comments to point out that folks don’t understand how IP protection works and that the freakout over Nintendo’s actions is misplaced, while pointing out Nintendo then needs to step up themselves to fill the void, but....

Define mainstream. For an (almost) 5 year old game, it appears to still command a pretty significant streaming audience in the FGC.

I’ve literally never been to a smash tournament, nor do I play any video games competitively.

Any form of competition has to have rules, and when the genre is a fighting game, the rules are generally going to weed out randomness to provide a field of play that allows players to compete in a relatively stable environment. Arguing that ‘just because’ the game designers decided that there should be 20 stages

Tbf only losers hobby shame.

The scene should continue playing smash in tournaments and take the thing to court. And if a judge is stupid enough (or paid enough) to rule in Nintendo’s favor, it should be appealed. And if our legal system is corrupt enough to supremely rule in Nintendo’s favor, the scene should continue playing smash through

It all started because they didn’t want to have an “XBox 2” while Sony had the PS3. Companies can get weird about having the “smaller” number. It’s the same reason why Samsung went from the Galaxy 10 to 21. They didn’t want to be behind Apple’s numbering any longer.

... can they not name it the Switch 2?

Interesting, they sometimes pull/delist trailers/directs when they’re getting ready for a new announcement but it seems like a bad move to announce it right before their final holiday push for the Switch. Does seem to be another piece of evidence of a reveal in the next several months though. I suspect it’ll be

While GTA can easily just push a trailer out of nowhere and still get a ridiculous number of views, you would still imagine that if they planned to release a trailer later this year they would just save it for the finale of the Game Awards, generate even more hype.

The Huge Materia arc in FF7 doesn’t really hold up and is probably my least favorite segment of the original game, with very specific exceptions (Cloud’s past). Where disc 1 was an edge of your seat riveting chase for Sephiroth and the truth, Disc 2 after meteor’s summoning was kinda bloated.
