It indeed could be a reason why PC ports of PS5 exclusive games require that much RAM.

This truly is a bizarre article. A cheap kit of 16GB DDR4 (what most people are going to have in their system right now) goes for less than $50, that’s cheaper than most new games. Sure, it’s an extra cost to upgrade, but I mean you’re upgrading from playing games still playable on PS4 to playing games only playable

I think Detective Pikachu would be better if they replaced the dialogue with dialogue from Deadpool. Same actor ;-)

It’s really not just about the trailer. Riot has also been making some bizarre decisions around the North American Pro scene that has a decent amount of the fanbase upset, such as moving broadcast times to noon on Thursday’s and Friday’s, rather than the weekends where it’s been since it’s inception a decade ago now.

Not to mention by the time you go through all that bullshit, you’ve lost the peak monetization time on a video when it’s fresh.

I can only speak for America, but the answer to your question is the same as why the vast majority workers don’t organize and fight for higher wages and unions. Or when they do there are massive lobbying efforts to crush them, and a political class that is at best lukewarm to organized labor if not openly hostile.

I think it’s a very good controller. Its biggest downside is simply that it doesn’t use the (modern) standard XInput-style button layout, which makes it pretty awkward to use with modern games, but for games that were designed to use it — such as all Gamecube games — it was fantastic.

Antiquated FCC regulations are likely the basis. The FCC set guidelines partly based on how likely children were to hear unsuitable content. To give you an idea of how antiquated these rules are - the strictest penalties enforced by the FCC are against radio because when the guidelines were put in place it was true

That’s the problem, they can’t. Youtube will just move on to other people who aren’t organizing, and a lot of smaller-time youtubers don’t have the money to not make videos. At worst, they could get banned with no recourse because Youtube can do absolutely anything to anyone on their platform.

I think the most damning part is only alluded to here.

If your video is demonetized for violation of these rules, you will not be told why or how your video is in violation of the guidelines, only that it is. At that point you can edit your video and apply for re-review, still not knowing what was actually in

It was a damn good controller and one of my favorite features of the WiiU (which was an awesome console!)

I agree. It’s prevented me from investing in a number of third party Nintendo controllers for my Switch. I suspect it has something to do with licensing, since it mostly seems to affect the officially licensed controllers.

An important part of the story is that he bought a pig as a pet, not understanding that they grow up to become regular sized pigs.

Yeah, I was just thinking that. Departures from the source material like replacing/reimagining characters sound like literally the opposite of FMA: Brotherhood.

Nintendo has a different target market for their titles. Sony and Microsoft have virtually the same. So comparing directly to Nintendo is a little disingenuous.

The long term implication is that MS’s market share will be closer to Sony’s, which is currently more than double MS’s.

Sony has more than double the console market share of MS. Even with the acquisition, it’s highly unlikely that MS will be able to match, let alone surpass, that.

To be fair, it seems like the FTC was already MS’s enemy. First there was the Internet Explorer nonsense way back when, now this lawsuit, even though Sony has the dominant share of the console market and routinely uses anti-competitive tactics like paying devs/pubs to exclude or delay their Xbox releases.

Not if David Zaslav has anything to say about it. We’ll probably find out later this week that the show has been pre-emptively cancelled, all original copies burned and defecated upon, and that Pedro Pascal has been banished to Antarctica.
