The only reason Gf has eventually started to champion 4v4 and 3v3 formats is in an effort to make games go faster, but from a global standpoint it really limits the strategical possibilities of the system, which is explicitly built around a 6 mon team (a philosophy still present in almost every aspect of pokemon…
Its because of Tera types. When a Pokemon’s Tera Type is the same type as its original type, any moves used by it of that type gets an additional x2 multiplier to damage dealt. Thats on top of all the usual increases to damage from things like STAB.
It’s not that they haven’t balanced singles (though I mean, they’re not great at balancing anything). It’s that they assume 3v3 singles, not 6v6.
I think the potential issue is if Houndstone is viable due to the nature of Last Respect games are going to play out the same every time: you send out your team to chip in damage but ultimately die, you get out your Houndstone and either sweep the opposing team or get walled by a normal. That’s fucking horrible if…
GameFreak hasn’t balanced moves and abilities for singles in years, ever since the official competitive format was changed to doubles. In 4x4 doubles this will never exceed 200 base power, which is high, but certainly not broken. It’s also a single target move, so if the opponent has two Pokemon on the field you can’t…
I saw that move and messaged friends about it lol. For what it’s worth it’ll probably be allowed in doubles, I’m guessing? usually they’re 4v4 anyway so at the absolute worst it’ll be a 200 BP move on a pokemon with almost nothing else going for it.
That said it’s primary ability is sand rush so it’ll probably be…
People don’t mean the same thing Nintedo does when they say “mainline title”. The Core series according to Nintendo includes Arceus, Let’s go and every remake but people are not talking about that.
“Really good” is in the eye of the beholder as well. I mean I haven’t gotten that far in it, but I’m not in love with it so far. The lack of polish goes so far beyond just poor graphics and performance. The whole thing is just so slipshod.
Something that isn’t broken and runs like crap. This isn’t rocket science.
I hope that the returns and the bad press make Nintendo turn their scathing gaze towards Game Freak, but let’s face it, the number of returns won’t even crack 0.01% of those sales. Most people have had it drilled into their heads that digital sales are final, even as that has been slowly changing, and the physical…
And this is why they don’t care about putting out quality.
And also the fastest and most refunded.
At the end of this I want 1) build your own Cup & 2 ) I would very much like a Rainbow Cup & Rainbow Cup II comprised of all 8 Rainbow Roads of the series. Please & thank you.
I look forward to paying for these courses again in Mario Kart 9.
but retiring at a good age before completely destroying his body, especially after 1 bad(documented) injury, more power to him.
Not having heard anything about this type change before, I’m still confused. Does it replace both of their existing types? Just one of them? Or is it a bonus third type that gets added on to the calculation? And how does it effect STAB bonuses from your own attacks?
Can we address the CCP-size elephant in the room and look at the draconian control the party in place put on everything internet and computer related? Video games VERY much included.
On top of what everyone else said, their reviews were generally in line with reviews from other magazines. Sometimes they were harsh on Nintendo franchises, too. They gave Pokemon Red and Blue a 7.2 out of 10.
Nintendo never presented Nintendo Power as anything but a house organ. There was nothing unethical about that.
