I’ve recently lived in and around Utah. My roommate worked in women’s public health for awhile, and once had a married couple come in because they didn’t know why they weren’t getting pregnant. They weren’t getting pregnant because they were having anal sex. BECAUSE NO ONE EVER TOLD THEM HOW PREGNANCY/SEX WORKS.

I have a sensitive and barely even related question about women’s colleges: I’m totally down with transwomen going there, but what about transmen? If they’re supposed to be places just for women, what’s the answer for someone who transitions to male while being there? I first thought, let’s just have more institutions…

Yeah, I was thinking about that. Doctors will do anything they can to not perform surgery on a vascular patient, but it’s probably the age part.

As far as I know, vascular EDS doesn’t affect the brain or thought processes. It’s just super dangerous in every other way. (I have a different type).

I’m a woman with EDS. Some types can have more issues with bleeding (like vascular) but it is primarily a problem in connective tissue. Collagen doesn’t do what it should. I’ve never heard any stats about women or men being more likely to have it, though.

If she has vascular EDS a c-section or vaginal birth are both tremendous risks.

Ahhhhh! I have a different form of EDS, much less deadly. Vascular is so dangerous. Any type of surgery and any type of birth are extremely risky. I hate to say or think it but maybe she knew things would go badly and wanted some control over her life for once :(
