I think that 'complete debacle' might be a little strong regarding JW. That's why up until now at least, I've felt that fans are prophesying too much doom, too soon.
This is a weird way of putting it, but Pet Sounds is the Beach Boys' album that interests me the most, while Sgt Pepper's is the later-Beatles' (Rubber Soul and on, I guess) that interests me the least. But I'm not sure which I choose between the two.
I'd probably be more into Sgt Pepper's if Penny Lane and Strawberry fields were included on it—are they, in any edition?
I'd say that there is/was plenty of mining potential in the concept, but I agree that those two films were enough (mostly because we've seen what a franchise it has become, and it hasn't been good).
T3 isn't as 'respectable,' but it is fun. As a pure popcorn joyride, it's not too bad.
I agree about the album-release thing, unless something is unexpected or in an unusual format (e.g. Bono was found sleeping in the AV Club offices with a satchel of LPs as a pillow).
Yeah, I get the impression that the 'showrunners' for Star Wars run a pretty tight ship. That might be the best case scenario for someone like Trevorrow to work in (although perhaps not the best case scenario for Star Wars, from the sound of it).
With Star Wars, the fanbase is deeply critical, I would say.
That observation is why they might keep him. It doesn't matter if it's any good; it'll make money.
They have talked about the possibility of scaling it back once this initial push is over, possibly because the constant-content load will be shouldered more by TV.
Abrams is such a consummate and seemingly levelheaded professional that he must know that Spielberg comparisons can lead to Shyamalanism.
Kellogg's and the all-new Pontiac Aztek are proud to present…
Hmm, that sounds like a job for Shondaland (to turn it into a scripted show).
Same here. The greatest thing about the Olympics is that it brings the best in the world together and it's frustrating to have coverage narrowed to focus on Americans, at least when it feels as though one is missing out on some good international competition elsewhere.
A friend of mine's family raised goats, so he wouldn't drink regular cow's milk at school. He would only drink chocolate milk.

Was hockey originally played with beaver-tails, two things-style?
Not to mention a Rush on dueling knives.
Thinking to myself that Dino-Riders were the coolest toys ever.
