Their unions want them to get paid every play because of how little they get per play. Twitch could put them under the Amazon music banner and make this go away for no real cost to them.

The silly thing is Twitch/Amazon could bring them all under the Amazon music license (similar to youtube that pays near nothing per 1000 plays of a song) for nothing. They just can’t figure out how to charge the streamers for it effectively. 

Truth is, I’d go another year, this one was such a shit show and Lorne is accomodating everyone and their side project/shows... why would you leave if you can work half a season.

If they have truly committed to 5 seasons, there’s no way all of this isn’t pro-rated over the run. They’re building things and tech they’ll be using for 5 or more years. The price per season will have to go down the longer it goes, but... it’s impressive they committed that much.

I saw this in theaters when it came out... no expectations. It was great. Sure the ending gets a bit goofy, but this wasn’t a movie with a plot in 3 acts with a strong thread from start to finish, it was more of a journey. That bit with the Ostrich was the best thing they ever did. They peaked with that flashback... I giggle like a child thinking about it. Knowing that they’re married and he still makes those jokes makes it so much worse.

There’s a fundamental flaw in this review structure grading episodes. When they’re setting up the payoffs, and going slower and deeper it’s not going to be as big as all the flashy action sequences (though we got one at the end)... But they’re not meant to be stand alone episodes. We don’t know if it’s a weak episode…
