I’m not convinced that Greg is “the least bad” member of the family. He’s new at all of it, and presumably the least wealthy, and nervous a lot of the time because he feels he’s out of his depth. But that doesn’t make him a good guy or even the least bad.

The Roys are not Democrats. Shiv is, but Logan is conservative, Connor is a libertarian weirdo, and Kendall and Roman don’t seem particularly political in their personal lives.

The smartest thing a show can do when the environment around it changes is to stay the course. Veep became a total fucking disaster when it tried to lean into Trump-era analogues--the whole internal logic of the show, which wasn’t always rock solid in the first place, flew out the window.
