There are a lot of boomers out there and they’re the ones who still have cable. It’s a pretty lucrative market but most networks are primarily hyperfocused on being relevant to Gen Z.

I think Sheridan glorifies a Texas brand of conservative which I am pretty familiar with from growing up there. Individual rights are huge and they don’t much like being told what to do whether it’s the “woke left” or the government.

Yeah, he’s cartoonish by design and it’s great.

Then he gets scammed by the broken bird, and doesn’t seem too bitter about it either.

“Kid” might be the key word. I wouldn’t necessarily assume he has well thought out motivations other than stir shit up.

Yeah... The guy who jumped on stage at the Hollywood Bowl and stabbed Dave Chapelle only got misdemeanor charges. There’s no way a kid (or even adult) who interrupts an award show by shouting nonsense is getting actual jail time. It’s going to be probation, a fine and a letter of apology for sure, maybe a little

Yeah I don’t think the actors are as much of a problem as the people in their orbit. It just takes one disgruntled assistant or a PA who wants to slip a script to their friend.

Pretty much. The visuals are too bright, too garish and too overworked for me so it’s not my taste but if someone else likes it that’s cool. I can’t imagine the sequel wouldn’t do well.

I could see Will Arnett taking over.

I pass absolutely no judgement on sex workers but if she’s manipulating Albie like lying to him about her pimp I don’t think she’s “doing her best.” It doesn’t mean she’s an evil monster either but there other ways she could go that don’t involve straight up deceit and manipulation.

That’s just being young and not sure what she wants. I don’t think she’s a saint but she’s not an awful person. She’s not planning to use Albie in some diabolical way, she’s just trying to find someone to spend time with in Italy and clearly she likes him enough to give it a go but not enough to commit- that’s not

Jon Gries was a good looking cowboy in his day! I mean the Greg we see in the show was sick in S1 and miserable in S2 so it’s not out of the question he was a different person a few decades ago.

If a writer doesn’t have the benefit of family connections or possibly a time on the Harvard Lampoon they’re going to be writing a lot of bottom of the barrel shit when they try to establish themselves in Hollywood. A lot of talented writers never get to break out and spend decades taking whatever they can get. I’d

When these celebration specials mention “the laughter” in the title that’s usually a sign I’m not going to be laughing much.

I think Americans are suckers for romcoms set in the UK but they act like Americans.

Unless it’s for health reasons or a scandal I don’t believe any high profile creative types who claim to be retiring or retired. They quit for 5 years, realize 70 isn’t that old and they’re still in decent health and want the work again not to mention the luxury treatment A-listers get when they’re making or promoting

Thanksgiving is a nostalgic holiday and for a lot of people it’s about the comfort of recreating some ideal celebration people have had in their brains since they were kids. I feel like leaving traditional dishes behind might word for a “friendsgiving” but you’re probably going to run into trouble with a family

I’d be very surprised if Costner didn’t think of himself as at least part cowboy.

I watch it (or half-watch it, it’s aput it on in the background” kind of show) and it’s pretty enjoyable if you like pseudo-prestige cable pulpy trash. Like Sons of Anarchy or Ozark.

I mostly agree but it’s more of a nighttime soap like Dallas or Empire than a CBS procedural. I mean, it’s not that far from Sons of Anarchy and probably shares a lot of the same audience.
