Yes, in Westpunt you’ll find the iguana soup mostly. Keshi Yena is considered the “fancy” national dish and I’ve only seen it served in Willemstad. You will definitely have to go back and try it!

La Révolution sounds like a crazy spin-off from the bonkers (but brilliant) Le Pacte de Loups - quite possibly the finest subtitled, period-piece, kick-boxing, werewolf movie ever made.
My favorite happy meal toy was actually from a Burger King kids meal but I think it should still count. A Snarf from thundercats ‘straw caddy’. It seemed to serve zero practical purpose but you could put it on your straw.
remember these?
Oh wow, I remember the Go Bots style toy!
I also remember the RotJ glasses. I don’t know whatever happened to those.
The dinosaurs were so much better than the robots.
I remember getting one that was for using at the beach.
As an olds, I don’t remember any happy meal toys, but we went to McD’s and they had the character glasses and my sister’s glass was the one with Grimace and I had the Hamburgler. My sister may still have the Grimace glass still.
This little guy got me lost in a mall when I was 5 years old. I was in a department store with my mom and I had been playing with it on a pile of shirts or something and I walked away without it. Walked back to get it and got separated from my mom. Wasn’t too long until she found me sitting at one of the makeup…
I think the only Happy Meal toys I ever got were a couple of those Go Bots style transforming McD’s fry/burger/whatever thingies back in the day. McD’s was a rare treat for me, we were poor as hell back then.
I still have this one:
A lot of the pre-’88 toys look like they’d be a combination of licensing issues, manufacturing issues, and safety issues.
My favorite happy meal “toy” was not a toy, it was the plastic bucket the happy meals came in on special occasions.
This made the whole article suspect...
The Martini, most classic of all cocktails, so classic that the three martini lunch was named after it, lasts to the second round. The gutbusting, lethargy inducing, White Russian is included.
This Fantasy Food Draft made me happy, except for the part where no one picked my favorite cocktail, the Negroni, nor my second favorite, the Manhattan.
I always find the frozen ones that aren’t chunks or fingers to be too spongy. And all the nuggets from fast food places except for McNuggets have that same weird texture. Will need to check out the Perdue.
Considering it appears that these were all cooked on the same pan, at the same temperature, for the same amount of time, could it be that not following the cooking instructions affected the texture and possibly the flavor of some of these? If the Trader Joe’s Breaded Nuggets browned up when fried, could they not have…
So it looks like you cooked them all on the same pan in the same oven at the same temp for the same amount of time.
“I even checked the packaging to try to find out what the noxious flavoring was from (it resembled a faint Lemon Pledge)“
