Yeah. I’d already sworn of VW after my friend’s experience, but this column is just reinforcing my decision.
The problem with that approach is that lots of people already have portable gaming devices. My phone and tablet both plays hundred of games, including remakes of classics and amazing indie games. Nintendo’s 3DS has basically taken over the gaming-only mobile market. Mobile gaming is pretty saturated.
Then we just wait. It’s not like video games go bad on the shelf, they’re not fruit.

The Switch really seem like classic Nintendo ‘great idea, bad execution’. All these little issues that aren’t a big deal by themselves, but add up to Nintendo rushing the Switch out the door and looks like them not understanding the markets they’re competing in. It’s sad.
I think the design on the Switch was done without referencing the designs of other tablets. There’s a lot of lessons learned from tablet design and marketing that I don’t see Nintendo paying attention to.

I care greatly. It knocks thousands of dollars off the price I’m willing to pay for the car, knowing that I’ll be subjected to potential security issues, have to deal with a lack of updates, etc.
